Axel Maldonado Guerrero Obituary, Death – Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life when a Jeep collided with a residence in suburban Lake County on Tuesday evening. As reported by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place in unincorporated Lake Villa shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jeep departed from the roadway on West Engle Drive and subsequently struck a house, resulting in one fatality and serious injuries to two individuals, including the driver.

The deceased passenger, 22-year-old Axel Maldonado Guerrero, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to law enforcement officials. Witnesses indicated that the Jeep was traveling eastbound on West Engle Drive when it crossed into the westbound lane. It then swerved back into the eastbound lane, left the road, and crashed into the residence.

Authorities confirmed that the house was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

A back seat passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, while the driver, identified as 31-year-old Marcos Corona-Vargas, was also hospitalized with serious injuries. He has since been charged with reckless homicide and driving under the influence in connection with the crash.
