Zachary A. Riley Death: Killen man succumbs to injuries days after Lauderdale County crash.
Zachary A. Riley Death – A 30-year-old Killen man, Zachary A. Riley, has died following a single-vehicle crash earlier this week, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed. The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. on Monday on Lauderdale County 47, close to Lauderdale County 140, approximately seven miles north of Killen.
Riley was driving a 2006 Subaru Legacy when the car veered off the road, struck a culvert, and overturned. According to ALEA, Riley was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle due to the impact. Emergency responders transported Riley to North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, where he was treated for critical injuries.
Despite medical efforts, Riley succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing as ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division works to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not released additional information at this time.
This tragic accident serves as a reminder of the importance of wearing seat belts, which can significantly reduce the risk of fatal injuries during collisions.
