Kiowa Tate, Tuseef Cheema Obituary, Death – A tragic crash in Payne County on Wednesday afternoon claimed the lives of two people and left another critically injured, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP). The accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. on State Highway 33 at Range Road, just west of Perkins.
Authorities reported that the crash involved a Nissan Juke, a box truck, and a Mitsubishi Outlander. Preliminary findings indicate that the Nissan Juke, heading eastbound on the highway, veered across the center line into the westbound lane. It first collided with a box truck and then struck the Mitsubishi Outlander.
The drivers of the Nissan Juke and the Mitsubishi Outlander were pronounced dead at the scene. OHP identified the Nissan driver as 19-year-old Kiowa Tate of Cushing and the Mitsubishi driver as 36-year-old Tuseef Cheema of Edmond.
A passenger in the Nissan Juke sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital in Stillwater for urgent medical care. The driver of the box truck escaped unharmed.
OHP is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
