Stephen Marriott Obituary, Death: Authorities recover body of missing Willis fisherman in Lake Conroe.
Stephen Marriott Obituary, Death – An investigation is currently ongoing after authorities recovered the body of a missing fisherman from Lake Conroe on Monday. The man has been identified as 44-year-old Stephen Marriott from Willis, Texas.
The situation began on Saturday evening at around 9:16 p.m. when a 911 call was made about an overdue boater on Lake Conroe. Marriott had gone fishing near FM 1375 and the Cagle Boat Ramp but had not returned. Law enforcement responded to the area and found Marriott’s vehicle and boat trailer in Walker County. However, they were unable to locate Marriott at that time.
By 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, authorities discovered Marriott’s boat near a small island close to FM 137, along with his life vest and cellphone. Despite these findings, Marriott’s whereabouts remained unknown.
On Monday afternoon, authorities located Marriott’s body approximately 100 yards from where the boat had been found, near FM 1375. In response, Walker County Justice of Peace Judge Cole has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death, as the investigation into the incident continues.
