Jesus Eulajo Espinoza Obituary, Death  – A hit-and-run crash in Pahrump resulted in the death of a 42-year-old bicyclist on Saturday evening. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Kellogg Road and Squaw Valley Road, approximately 62 miles west of Las Vegas.

According to the Nevada State Highway Patrol (NSHP), a 1997 white Volvo sedan was traveling east on Kellogg Road when a black electric bicycle, ridden by 42-year-old Jesus Eulajo Espinoza of Pahrump, ran a stop sign and crossed directly in front of the vehicle. The Volvo driver attempted to steer left to avoid a collision, but was unable to avoid hitting the bicycle. The car struck the left side of the bike, causing the rider to be thrown off.

The driver of the Volvo did not stop at the scene, instead fleeing from the location. The bicycle was found lying on its side on the dirt shoulder south of Kellogg Road, and the rider, Espinoza, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding authorities.

NSHP investigators later located the Volvo’s driver at a home in Pahrump. The driver was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a death. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash.
