Alicia Osteen Obituary, Death – A woman died and several others were injured in a car crash in Mariposa on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision occurred near the Mariposa County Fairgrounds at around 3 p.m.
The driver of one vehicle, Alicia Osteen, was traveling north on Highway 49, just north of Varain Road, when the incident took place. Osteen was behind the wheel of a Honda, and a Jeep was heading south on the same road. For reasons still under investigation, Osteen crossed the painted double yellow lines and entered the southbound lane, where she collided with the oncoming Jeep.
Osteen tragically sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Multiple individuals from both vehicles were injured, and medical personnel arrived on the scene to treat the victims. The injured were transported to a local hospital for further care.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash and has not yet provided additional details on the circumstances leading to the collision.
