Emergency responders, including Turner Fire-Rescue and deputies from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, were quickly dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the crash.

Upon arrival, authorities found William Brook, a 65-year-old resident of Lisbon, suffering from severe injuries. According to the sheriff’s office, investigators believe that Brooks was traveling northbound on Auburn Road when, for reasons still unknown, his motorcycle veered off the roadway. The motorcycle struck an embankment, which caused Brooks to be ejected from the vehicle. It was noted that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, a factor that may have contributed to the severity of his injuries.

Brooks was immediately transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was later pronounced dead due to the injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash scene was managed with assistance from a crash reconstruction team from the Lewiston Police Department. This team is working alongside the sheriff’s office to investigate the circumstances that led to the fatal accident.
