Vladimir Fedun Obituary, Death – A fatal shooting in Citrus Heights on Saturday night resulted in the death of a 57-year-old man, who police say was killed by his neighbor. Authorities identified the victim as Vladimir Fedun of Citrus Heights. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of Thalia Way, where police responded to reports of a shooting.
According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, Fedun was shot multiple times in front of a residence. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Fedun lying on the ground. They attempted to move him away from the home to provide aid, but despite their efforts, fire personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the suspect in the shooting is 55-year-old Victor Bubliyenko, who lived nearby and knew the victim. After the shooting, both Fedun’s and Bubliyenko’s homes were searched as part of the investigation, and authorities gathered evidence from the scene.
Bubliyenko was located the following day, around 1 p.m. Sunday, near the intersection of San Juan and Sunset avenues. Police arrested him without incident. He has since been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is being held without the option of bail. Jail records confirm that he is facing a murder charge.
Although Bubliyenko is currently the only suspect named in the case, investigators are continuing their work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
