Tyrese Devell Johnson, Augustine T. Monboe Obituary, Death: Three victims identified in fatal Iowa crash.
Tyrese Devell Johnson, Augustine T. Monboe Obituary, Death – On October 13, a tragic crash on Highway 20 in Earlville resulted in three fatalities, and investigators have now identified the victims. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Iowa State Patrol, revealed that the incident involved a 2014 Chevy Impala driven by 50-year-old Tijuan Devell White from Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
The crash took place near the Earlville Interchange, where White’s vehicle was traveling eastbound on Highway 20. According to the investigation, White’s vehicle crossed the median and continued driving eastward in the westbound lanes. It collided head-on with a semi-truck. Both the Chevy and the truck were fully engulfed in flames following the crash. The driver of the semi-truck, fortunately, sustained only minor injuries. Tragically, White and two passengers in the Impala—21-year-old Tyrese Devell Johnson from Minneapolis and 38-year-old Augustine T. Monboe from Robbinsdale—died at the scene.
Authorities have determined that White had been shot prior to the crash, but they have found no evidence suggesting that the gunshot came from an external source. Given the extent of the fire damage to the vehicle, the exact cause of death remains undetermined at this point. Investigators are continuing to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The ongoing investigation is being led by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Iowa State Patrol, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa State Medical Examiner. Their work aims to clarify the details of the events that led to this deadly crash.
