Tony Crane Obituary, Death – A Wilmington College student was fatally shot at an off-campus fraternity house early Sunday morning, police confirmed.
According to a spokesperson for the Wilmington Police Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 12:43 a.m. at the Delta Theta Sigma fraternity house, located at 780 Romback Avenue.
The victim was identified as 20-year-old Tony Crane from Fishers, Indiana. Crane was a football player at Wilmington College and a member of the Delta Theta Sigma fraternity.
Despite emergency responders’ immediate efforts, Crane was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Investigators recovered a firearm at the location and are working to collect evidence and determine the exact circumstances of Crane’s death.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the incident may have been a suicide, according to authorities. However, the case remains under investigation as officials continue to gather more information.
In response to the tragedy, Wilmington College has canceled classes on Monday and is offering counseling and campus ministry services to students in need of support.
