Timothy Corlew Obituary, Death – A Riverside County sheriff’s deputy, Timothy Corlew, tragically died in a collision involving his patrol motorcycle and an SUV on the Riverside (91) Freeway. The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday on the westbound side of the freeway near La Sierra Avenue in Riverside, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

CHP Officer Javier Navarro confirmed that it was an accident, with the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team currently gathering details. Witnesses reported that Corlew’s motorcycle collided with a dark-colored SUV, but further details were not immediately available.

Corlew was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Information about the other driver was not disclosed, and no arrests were made. Navarro mentioned that criminal charges are unlikely based on the current understanding of the incident.

Sheriff Chad Bianco expressed his sorrow in a brief social media statement, announcing the loss of another deputy in the line of duty. Corlew was part of the sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station, but details about his service history were not provided.

Corlew’s death follows a series of line-of-duty deaths within the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. In May 2023, Deputy Brett Michael Harris died in a collision while responding to a call for backup. Before that, in January 2023, Deputy Darnell Calhoun was fatally shot in an ambush, and in December 2022, Deputy Isaiah Albert Cordero was killed during a traffic stop.

There has been no announcement regarding funeral arrangements for Deputy Corlew at this time.
