Susan Laube Obituary, Death – The Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office has confirmed the identity of the woman who tragically died in a car fire on Cape Cod in Sandwich. The deceased has been identified as 86-year-old Susan Lauber, a resident of Sandwich.
According to officials, Lauber was driving her vehicle early Monday morning, during the predawn hours, when the accident occurred. She had driven into the area near Peter’s Pond in Sandwich. Upon reaching the last cottage in the area, her vehicle left the paved road and continued around the cottage, heading into a wooded area.
The terrain in the woods, which had a steep incline, caused the vehicle to tip onto its passenger side. This resulted in the car becoming engulfed in flames. Authorities reported that the fire fully consumed the vehicle, and Lauber tragically did not survive the incident.
The investigation into the cause of the crash and fire is ongoing, but at this time, officials have not revealed any further details regarding the specific circumstances surrounding the accident.
