The shooting took place just before 3 a.m. near Southwest Pleasant View Drive and Southwest 14th Drive. Upon arriving at the scene, Gresham police officers discovered a woman, later identified as 50-year-old Susan Henson, who had been shot and was critically injured. Henson was rushed to a trauma center for treatment, but despite efforts to save her, she did not survive her injuries.

Initially, the Gresham Police Department did not release information about any potential arrests related to the shooting. However, on December 16, they confirmed that 26-year-old Kuian Kellum was arrested at the scene. Kellum was initially charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault.
