Steve Deleon Obituary, Death – A tragic hit-and-run crash in Cabazon early Sunday morning claimed the life of a bicyclist after he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the incident occurred around 1:25 a.m. on Seminole Drive, near Millard Pass Road.
According to authorities, the bicyclist, identified as 59-year-old Steve Deleon of Whittier, was riding eastbound on Seminole Drive when an unidentified vehicle approached from behind and struck the rear of his bike. The impact caused Deleon to be ejected onto the roadway.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Deleon was pronounced dead due to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle did not stop, and police are now searching for any leads in the case.
