Shelia Walke Obituary, Death; Coroner identifies woman fatally stabbed in Richland County; teenager faces charges.

Shelia Walke Obituary, Death – A woman fatally stabbed earlier this week in Richland County has been officially identified by the county coroner. Richland County Coroner Nadia Rutherford confirmed that the victim was 56-year-old Shelia Walker. The fatal incident took place on Tuesday along Faraway Drive.

Authorities have arrested 17-year-old Trinity Goodwin in connection with the stabbing. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department announced that Goodwin is being charged as an adult with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Deputies responded to reports of a disturbance involving a knife at an apartment located in the 2000 block of Faraway Drive. Upon arrival, they found Walker suffering from stab wounds. She was rushed to a hospital but later died from her injuries.

According to the initial incident report, the situation escalated following a conflict involving Goodwin and some of her family members. The disagreement reportedly began outside the apartment before continuing inside. At some point, Goodwin went into the kitchen, retrieved a knife, and allegedly used it during the confrontation. It is not yet clear whether Shelia Walker was among the relatives involved or if she was directly related to Goodwin.

After the stabbing, deputies began searching for Goodwin. Witnesses at the scene reportedly informed officers of her whereabouts, which led to her arrest. During questioning, Goodwin allegedly admitted to committing the stabbing. Following her arrest, she was transported and booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Investigators are still working to understand the full circumstances that led up to the altercation and fatal stabbing. Authorities have not released additional details about the relationship between Goodwin and Walker, nor have they indicated what might have caused the conflict to escalate to violence.

Goodwin faces serious legal consequences as she has been formally charged as an adult. Her case will proceed through the adult court system, given the severity of the charges.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department continues to ask anyone with further information about the incident to come forward as the investigation remains active.
