Scott David Guhse Obituary, Death – A road rage incident in Glen Burnie led to a fatal shooting when a motorcyclist shot and killed a driver wielding a hammer, according to Anne Arundel County police. The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. when the 22-year-old motorcyclist was traveling along Maryland Route 10 near Furnace Branch Road. He noticed another vehicle tailgating him and driving erratically.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 51-year-old Scott David Guhse of Glen Burnie, pulled alongside the motorcyclist and yelled at him. The two nearly collided before coming to a stop on East Furnace Branch Road.
At that point, Guhse allegedly charged at the motorcyclist, holding a hammer in his hand. In response, the motorcyclist drew his handgun and shot Guhse, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Fire officials confirmed the death.
Police noted that the motorcyclist holds a Maryland concealed handgun carry permit and remained at the scene after the shooting.
