Samuel Lopez Obituary, Death – Police have released the identity of the man who was fatally stabbed in Waterbury over the weekend. The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Samuel Lopez, a resident of Waterbury, according to Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police Department.
The stabbing took place on Saturday evening around 9:35 p.m. near 69 Washington Street. Officers responded to reports of a violent incident and found Lopez outside, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Emergency responders immediately transported Lopez to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he later died from his injuries, authorities confirmed.
In addition to Lopez, a second adult male was also injured during the incident. Police say this individual sustained a serious laceration to his face along with a minor cut. He was treated at a local hospital and has since been released.
Investigators have not provided details about what may have led to the stabbing or whether any suspects have been identified or arrested. The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this time.
