Salvador Alvarado Reyes Obituary, Death – The Kearney County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a crash Tuesday morning, a two-vehicle accident that occurred near Wilcox, Nebraska.
At approximately 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday, authorities responded to the crash site at the intersection of County Road B and County Road 23, about two miles east of Wilcox. The accident involved a 34-year-old man from Grand Island, Nebraska, driving a truck, and a 61-year-old woman from Axtell, Nebraska, who was driving an eastbound car.
Both drivers were taken to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with serious injuries following the collision. Tragically, a passenger in the truck, identified as Salvador Alvarado Reyes, 35, from Kearney, was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office noted that neither Reyes nor the truck driver were wearing seat belts, whereas the woman in the car was properly restrained.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol, with assistance from the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office and Kearney County Attorney’s Office. Emergency responders from Wilcox and Hildreth Fire Departments, Good Samaritan EMS, and the Kearney County Roads Department were also on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the full details of the crash.
