Rustin Needer Obituary, Death – A man who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Nashville early Sunday morning has been identified as 41-year-old Rustin Needer, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. on July 27 in the 1300 block of Gallatin Pike South. Authorities say Needer was walking northbound when he was hit by a Buick Encore traveling in the same direction.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the crash and cooperated with law enforcement. Officers who responded to the incident spoke with the driver and began their investigation.
Needer was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. According to fatal crash investigators, a family member of Needer informed police that he had called shortly before the accident, saying he was walking home after his vehicle had broken down near Briley Parkway on Gallatin Pike.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing as police work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
