Ronald Stewart Obituary, Death – A shooting on the South Side early Monday morning left a man dead and a woman injured, according to Chicago police. Officers responded to a call about gunfire around 2:05 a.m. in the 1800 block of West 83rd Street.
Upon arrival, they discovered 63-year-old Ronald Stewart, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene. A 58-year-old woman was also injured in the incident, sustaining two gunshot wounds to her leg. She was transported to the hospital in fair condition.
Police reported that the shooting followed a verbal dispute between Stewart and another male. Both men reportedly fired weapons during the altercation. While Stewart was fatally struck, the other male was unharmed. Police detained the male at the scene and recovered two firearms. Charges against him are pending as the investigation continues.
