Ronald Bedley Obituary, Death: 1 Killed After Moped Crashes Into Back of Vehicle

Ronald Bedley Obituary, Death – The Kentucky State Police is currently conducting an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred in Laurel County. According to KSP Post 11, they were summoned to the scene of a two-vehicle injury accident located near 900 North Laurel Road on Wednesday.
The preliminary investigation by KSP indicates that a moped, operated by Ronald Bedley, aged 74, from London, was found injured in the roadway upon their arrival. The second vehicle involved in the incident was driven by Darlene Maggard, aged 67, from McKee.
KSP reports that both vehicles were heading northbound. Maggard’s vehicle was stationary in the road, waiting to make a left turn. Bedley failed to halt his moped and subsequently collided with the rear of Maggard’s vehicle.
It is noted that Bedley was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in London.
Unfortunately, Bedley was pronounced dead at the hospital.
KSP has stated that no additional injuries have been reported, and there is no suspicion of alcohol or drugs being involved in the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
