Robert Boles Obituary, Death News: 70-year-old dies when truck crashes into his home, driver flees, officials say in Angelina Co.

Robert Boles Obituary, Death News – A fatal accident occurred in Angelina County, Texas, last week when a Chevrolet pickup truck crashed into a home, killing the homeowner. The tragic incident took place on Thursday, April 24, just before 7 a.m. on FM 842, located about two hours northeast of Houston.
According to the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle, driven by 36-year-old Jorge Urbina Lopez, veered off the road, struck a tree, and then continued its destructive path, driving through a nearby home. The homeowner, identified as 70-year-old Robert Boles, was inside the home when the truck collided with the structure, and he was found dead at the scene. Deputies confirmed that Boles died as a result of the crash.
After the collision, Lopez, the driver of the truck, fled the scene on foot. Law enforcement quickly initiated a search, following a trail of damage from the wreck. A few miles away, officers found Lopez at a residence, and the damaged truck was also located nearby. The truck’s front end was heavily damaged, and it appeared to have been partially covered by a tarp in an attempt to conceal it.
Lopez was apprehended by the sheriff’s office and taken into custody. Investigators later learned that he had an extensive criminal history, including over a dozen outstanding traffic warrants and several prior arrests. He was booked into the Angelina County Jail where he now faces charges related to the crash and his actions afterward.
The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and Lopez’s reasons for fleeing the scene. The case has drawn significant attention, as officials and the community mourn the loss of Robert Boles, who was killed in his own home as a result of the reckless actions of a driver who chose to flee rather than face the consequences.
