According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Chico was driving a sedan northbound on the highway when he lost control of the vehicle. His car crossed the median and entered the southbound lanes, where it collided with two other vehicles around 2:35 p.m.

Deputies responded to the scene and found Chico unresponsive. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene, confirmed by sheriff’s office spokeswoman Amy Young. “Our thoughts are with Ricardo’s family and friends at this difficult time,” Young stated.
