Kelly, 30, was declared deceased at 10:06 p.m. Thursday at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital.
The shooting took place at approximately 8:35 p.m. on Monday at the Frederick Douglas Apartments in Phenix City. Kelly was critically injured and was initially transported to the hospital with life-threatening wounds. Following the shooting, Kelly was treated at the medical facility but ultimately succumbed to his injuries two days later.
