Petrina Ann Williams Obituary, Death: Woman fatally struck by van in north Charlotte.
Petrina Ann Williams Obituary, Death – A tragic incident in north Charlotte has claimed the life of 48-year-old Petrina Ann Williams. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), the accident occurred early Monday morning, shortly before 7 a.m., on Reagan Drive near North Graham Street.
Emergency crews from CMPD, Charlotte Fire, and Medic quickly responded to the scene, where they found Williams lying on the ground. Nearby, officers discovered a white 2018 Ford Transit van with noticeable damage to its front right side and windshield. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Eliceo Zunun Aguilar, was present at the scene.
Williams was promptly transported to a local hospital but, sadly, she later succumbed to her injuries.
Preliminary investigations by CMPD suggest that Aguilar was driving west on Reagan Drive toward North Graham Street when Williams attempted to cross the road in front of his vehicle. At the time of the collision, conditions were challenging, with darkness and rain contributing to reduced visibility. Additionally, Williams was wearing dark clothing and was not using a marked crosswalk.
Police have determined that speed was not a factor in the accident, and Aguilar was not impaired at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident.
