Patricia Ann Bane Obituary, Death News – A fatal two-vehicle crash in Rockbridge County is under investigation by Virginia State Police. The accident occurred on the morning of March 1 at the intersection of Route 11 and Pine Forest Road.
According to officials, 79-year-old Patricia Ann Bane of Lexington was driving a 2005 Toyota 4-Runner when she failed to yield at a stop sign while attempting to turn onto Route 11. Her vehicle was struck by a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 traveling southbound on Route 11.
Despite wearing her seatbelt, Bane was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dodge Ram’s driver, a 40-year-old man who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities have not filed any charges at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing. Virginia State Police encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward.
The local community is mourning Bane’s loss as officials work to determine the factors that led to the crash.
