Nicholas Cummings Obituary, Death – A tragic accident in Sycamore on Friday night claimed the life of 26-year-old motorcyclist Nicholas Cummings. The crash occurred at the intersection of DeKalb Avenue and Woodgate Drive around 6:45 p.m., according to local authorities.
Cummings, who was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on DeKalb Avenue, collided with a 2010 Chevrolet. The Chevrolet was traveling southbound and attempting to turn left onto Woodgate Drive at the time of the accident.
Emergency responders transported Cummings to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb for treatment. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The DeKalb County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity on Saturday afternoon. The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
