Earlier reports indicated that multiple accidents took place, including the fatal crash, which caused major disruptions on the roadway for several hours. The crash occurred on the eastbound lanes of I-376, near mile marker 8.9 in Neshannock Township. A Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 26-year-old woman from Youngstown, Ohio, lost control of the vehicle while traveling eastbound.

The driver of the Tacoma veered across the median, striking a guardrail before crossing into the path of a westbound Ford Transit van. Neil Plumber, the 41-year-old driver of the Ford Transit, was unable to avoid the collision and was killed as a result of the impact.

The driver of the Tacoma sustained serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital. Police confirmed that her injuries were suspected to be serious, although further details on her condition were not provided.
