Michael L. Isaac Jr Obituary, Death – The High Point Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Sunday evening. Around 5:48 p.m., officers, along with the High Point Fire Department and Guilford County EMS, responded to a report of a crash involving a car and a bicyclist near West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Oakwood Street.
Upon arrival, first responders found 33-year-old Michael L. Isaac Jr., of High Point, deceased in the roadway. Investigators believe Isaac was riding his bicycle in the travel lane of West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive when a vehicle struck him. The driver fled the scene before emergency personnel arrived.
The investigation is in its early stages, and police have not yet released details on the suspect vehicle. This incident marks the sixth traffic fatality in High Point this year. More information will be shared as the investigation continues.
