Michael Guarino Obituary, Death – A 49-year-old man from Bandon, Oregon, was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 on Tuesday morning. The Oregon State Police (OSP) reported that the crash occurred near milepost 255 in Coos County just before noon on November 19.

According to officials, a 40-year-old Bandon man was driving a northbound GMC Sierra when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound Ford F-250 that was towing a trailer. The driver of the Ford, identified as Michael Guarino, was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC Sierra sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash temporarily shut down parts of Highway 101, with the road being impacted for about four hours as authorities investigated the incident. OSP is still determining the cause of the crash.

In addition to OSP, several local agencies assisted at the scene, including the Bandon Police Department, Bandon Fire Department, Coquille Police Department, Coos County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oregon Department of Transportation. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
