Matthew Douglas Brashear Obituary, Death – A fatal accident occurred on November 5, claiming the life of a California man when his vehicle overturned in Mesquite, Nevada. The crash took place around 1:32 a.m. near the intersection of West Pioneer Blvd and Willis Carrier Canyon, approximately 82 miles north of Las Vegas.
The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol responded to the scene and began their investigation. According to the initial findings, a blue 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was speeding westbound on Pioneer Blvd when the driver, 45-year-old Matthew Douglas Brashear from Valley Glen, California, lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve.
The Dodge Ram began rotating clockwise, first striking an unprotected center median before hitting a metal light pole on the right front tire. The vehicle continued traveling west, rotating further, and struck another light pole on the left side. At this point, the truck overturned and slid on its roof before coming to a stop in the westbound lanes. The vehicle ended up facing north, blocking both the left lane and the north shoulder of Pioneer Blvd.
Brashear was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the crash, which is ongoing.
