Marjorie Swann Boyers Obituary, Death – A tragic crash in Mechanicsville on Friday afternoon claimed the life of a woman and left two others injured. According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene on Mechanicsville Road in the 25000 block, where a two-vehicle collision had just occurred.

The crash involved a 2018 Toyota Highlander driven by 79-year-old Marjorie Swann Boyers and a 2013 Chrysler 200 operated by 31-year-old Megan Rowley, who was accompanied by a juvenile passenger. Investigators found that the two vehicles collided head-on.

Sadly, Boyers was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Rowley and the juvenile passenger were rushed to a trauma center, where they remain in critical condition.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Boyers’ Toyota was heading southbound on Mechanicsville Road when it crossed the center line, directly entering the opposite lane and striking Rowley’s car. Authorities have ruled out speed and driver impairment as factors in the crash so far.

Officials are still investigating the circumstances that caused Boyers to veer across the center line. Law enforcement has asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Corporal Vincent Pontorno at 301-475-4200 to assist in the ongoing investigation.
