Luis Chin Obituary, Death: Pittsfield fatal pedestrian crash victim identified

Luis Chin Obituary, Death – The Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the pedestrian involved in a crash on June 20 in Pittsfield has died from his injuries.

The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Dalton Avenue, near the intersection with Benedict Road. According to Pittsfield Police, a Chevy Impala traveling westbound struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road from the south side. The victim was later identified as 87-year-old Luis Chin, a Pittsfield resident.

Emergency crews responded quickly and transported Chin to Berkshire Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Following the crash, Dalton Avenue was temporarily closed between Benedict Road and Harvard Street for approximately two hours to allow officials to investigate and clear the scene.

Authorities say the investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
