Lorenzo Davis, Jr. Obituary, Death – Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy who was killed late Thursday night in North Birmingham. The victim, identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Lorenzo Davis Jr., died at the scene from his injuries.

The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of 29th Avenue North, located within the Collegeville public housing community. According to Birmingham police, officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered the teen dead inside an apartment.

Police Public Information Officer Truman Fitzgerald stated that preliminary findings suggest multiple gunshots were fired both into a vehicle parked outside and into the apartment where Davis was found. It remains uncertain whether Davis was struck while inside the apartment or if he was initially outside before retreating indoors.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigators are still working to determine the circumstances leading up to the deadly shooting. The motive behind the gunfire has not been disclosed, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
