Lauren Sjoblom Obituary, Death – A 34-year-old woman tragically lost her life after being struck by a Long Beach Transit bus on Tuesday evening. The victim has been identified as Lauren Sjoblom, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. The incident occurred around 6:55 p.m. on Shoreline Drive near Seventh Street, prompting a response from the Long Beach Police Department. Preliminary investigations revealed that the Long Beach Transit bus was traveling northbound on Shoreline Drive when it collided with Sjoblom, who was walking in the roadway outside of a crosswalk.
The bus driver immediately reported the collision, and Long Beach Transit is fully cooperating with authorities in the investigation. According to the police statement, there were no signs of speed, distracted driving, or impairment by the bus driver that may have contributed to the crash.
The Long Beach Fire Department quickly responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but despite their efforts, Sjoblom was declared dead at the scene.
