Kristopher Gari Obituary, Death – Kristopher Gari, a 25-year-old Reno resident, was identified as the man fatally shot by Reno police early Monday, according to the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The incident occurred during an attempted arrest at the Maverik gas station near West Fourth Street and Keystone Avenue in west Reno around 1:40 a.m.
According to the Sparks Police Department, which is leading the investigation, the confrontation began when officers approached Gari. A physical struggle ensued between Gari and an officer, ultimately leading to the shooting. Sparks police also revealed that Gari had evaded Reno officers in his vehicle twice over the weekend in separate incidents, which may have contributed to the circumstances surrounding the attempted arrest.
Despite efforts to save his life by responding officers and medical personnel, Gari succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The medical examiner determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds.
