Keshawn Kent Obituary, Death – The Belleville police have identified a person of interest in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred late Sunday night outside an apartment complex. According to a statement on Facebook from the Belleville Police Department, a man was discovered unresponsive outside an apartment building on the 200 block of Freedom Drive around 11 p.m.
Despite the efforts of police and EMS personnel to administer life-saving measures, the man succumbed to his injuries from gunshot wounds to the upper torso. St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. confirmed that the deceased was 24-year-old Keshawn Kent, a resident of Bellefontaine Neighbors.
Detectives from both the Belleville Police Department and the Illinois State Police have initiated an investigation and are conducting interviews with witnesses. The post indicated that investigators have uncovered ‘key evidence’ that has facilitated the identification of a person of interest.
