The Hutto Police Department (HPD) identified the suspect as 60-year-old Kerry Carter, while the victims were named as 58-year-old Deffenia Lynch and 41-year-old Iosha Shaw.

Incident Details

On February 27, officers responded to a home on the 200 block of Seaholm Lane after receiving a distressing 911 call. The caller, later identified as Carter, reportedly told dispatchers that he had just killed two people and was planning to take his own life.

When officers arrived at the scene, they attempted to communicate with Carter through the front door. However, during the verbal exchange, a single gunshot rang out from inside the home. Officers then entered the residence, where they discovered all three individuals deceased.

Hutto Police Chief Jeffrey Yarbrough expressed his condolences to the victims’ loved ones and the broader community, acknowledging the emotional toll of such an event.

“This is a devastating situation, and we understand the impact it has on our community,” Yarbrough said. “Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and the entire community affected by this tragedy.
