Julie Knehans Obituary, Death – The Jefferson City Police Department (JCPD) has placed officers on administrative leave following a fatal shooting during a burglary investigation.
Authorities identified the individual shot and killed as 53-year-old Julie Knehans of Jefferson City.
The incident occurred on March 7 when officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at a home in the 200 block of Gordon Street. Upon arrival, they encountered Knehans inside the residence, and shots were fired.
Following standard protocol, the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave while the Missouri State Highway Patrol leads an investigation into the shooting. Additionally, JCPD will conduct an internal administrative review of the incident.
