The accident occurred in Greenville, South Carolina, when Ward, his girlfriend, and two friends were leaving a driveway in an SUV. Their vehicle was struck by another car, causing it to veer off the road and collide with a tree. All four occupants of the SUV lost their lives in the crash.
Ward, 37, leaves behind a young son, Kai. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as Nicholas Shane Meeks, was arrested by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. Meeks faces four felony DUI charges involving death and an additional charge for driving with a suspended license. Loudwire also reported that Meeks had been previously charged with a DUI in March 2024.
In the wake of this devastating event, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to help cover Ward’s funeral expenses. The fundraiser has already raised nearly $18,000. The campaign description reflects the deep impact Ward had on those around him, stating:
