Joshua Musselman Obituary, Death: The Spokane County Medical Examiner has confirmed the identity of the man who was shot by Spokane Police on December 29. The individual has been identified as 29-year-old Joshua Musselman. According to the Medical Examiner’s office, the official cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

The fatal shooting occurred at an apartment on West Cora Avenue, located near the Garland District of Spokane, around 4:30 p.m. that day. Spokane Police Chief Kevin Hall stated that officers had responded to reports of a man firing gunshots from inside the apartment. Upon arriving at the scene, officers encountered Musselman and, according to Chief Hall, it is believed that up to four officers discharged their firearms during the encounter.

Despite immediate lifesaving efforts from both the responding officers and medical personnel, Musselman was pronounced dead at the scene. Following standard procedure, the officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave while the incident is thoroughly investigated.

In addition, the Spokane Independent Investigative Response (SIIR) team has been tasked with conducting an investigation into the shooting. This is part of the protocol to ensure a thorough and unbiased review of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been fully disclosed at this time. Authorities continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses to determine the full sequence of events.
