Jose D. Centeno Obituary, Death: Authorities identify 73-year-old Elizabeth man as victim in Clifton industrial accident
Jose D. Centeno Obituary, Death – Police have identified Jose D. Centeno, a 73-year-old resident of Elizabeth, as the worker who died following an industrial accident in Clifton on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency responders were called at 3:28 p.m. to 1 Broad Street, where Centeno was reported seriously injured by machinery. He was pronounced dead when first responders arrived.
Centeno worked for Ricova Recycling, the company operating at the location where the accident took place. Lieutenant Robert Anderson from the Clifton Police Department confirmed that the incident has been classified as an accidental death.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), along with local police, is investigating the circumstances surrounding the machinery-related accident. OSHA has up to six months to complete its review and release a report on their findings.
