Jorge Carmona Obituary, Death – A 17-year-old boy tragically lost his life Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Waukegan. Authorities were called to the intersection of Belvidere and Fulton around 12:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.
Upon arriving at the scene, officials found Jorge Carmona, a resident of Waukegan, lying in the roadway. He had been riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene immediately after the collision. Despite efforts to assess the situation, Carmona was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that Carmona died from blunt force injuries. Investigators have not yet been able to locate the vehicle involved in the crash, which remains at large.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the hit-and-run and are seeking any information that might help identify the driver responsible for the incident.
