Jonathan M. Hamilton Obituary, Death – A tragic accident in Rutherford County on Friday morning claimed the life of 43-year-old bicyclist Jonathan M. Hamilton. According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the incident occurred around 6:17 a.m. on Old Nashville Highway near Creekmont Drive.
Hamilton, who was riding his bicycle at the time, was struck by a 2022 Nissan Sentra. The collision resulted in fatal injuries, and Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the initial crash, Hamilton’s bicycle remained in the roadway and was struck by two additional vehicles. The first vehicle to hit the bicycle was a 2022 Hyundai SUV, followed by a 2012 Toyota. The drivers of these two vehicles sustained injuries from the secondary collisions but were not reported to have suffered life-threatening harm.
The THP report confirmed that no charges would be filed against any of the drivers involved in the incident.
In response to Hamilton’s death, a GoFundMe page was launched to assist his family with funeral expenses. The fundraiser was later closed, with the organizer stating that enough donations had been received to cover the costs of his funeral arrangements.
As a gesture of remembrance, a memorial event was planned in Hamilton’s honor at The Front Street Pub, set to take place on November 24.
