John Valenzuela Luera Obituary, Death – A 66-year-old man died after being struck by a suspected DUI driver in Santa Ana on Wednesday night, according to police. The Santa Ana Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. near the busy intersection of Bristol Street and Segerstrom Avenue. Officers responded to several 911 calls about a collision involving a pedestrian.

When authorities arrived, they found the man injured and began emergency medical treatment. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries despite life-saving efforts. The victim was identified as John Valenzuela Luera, a Santa Ana resident.

According to witness accounts, Luera was walking in the traffic lanes on Bristol Street when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Police stated that the driver remained at the scene after the crash and cooperated with investigators. The driver was later arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the suspect involved in the crash.
