John Sweeney Obituary, Death – A 50-year-old motorcyclist from Bucks County was killed in a wrong-way crash on the Northeast Extension of I-476 on Sunday, according to authorities.

The victim, John Sweeney of Bristol, was riding with a group of five motorcyclists when he was hit by a southbound vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes near mile marker #67. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office determined that Sweeney died from blunt force injuries caused by the collision, ruling his death accidental.

Officials have not yet provided details on why the other driver was traveling in the wrong direction. The crash remains under investigation by the coroner’s office, Pennsylvania State Police, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
