John Long Obituary, Death – A fatal crash occurred in northeast Kansas on Wednesday when a Chevy Silverado pickup truck veered into oncoming traffic on K-99, just south of Wamego. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that the southbound Chevy, driven by a 20-year-old from Manhattan, crossed the center line and struck a northbound Honda CR-V head-on around 1:30 p.m.

The Honda’s driver, 69-year-old John Long from Wamego, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the Chevy sustained serious injuries and was also hospitalized. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the pickup truck to cross into the opposite lane, and the investigation is ongoing.
