John Leonard Obituary, Death News – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who was fatally shot in northeast Bexar County. John Leonard, 39, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on Tuesday night. His death was officially ruled a homicide.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to reports of a shooting around 8:42 p.m. in the 6800 block of Oldham Drive. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered a blue sedan with its driver’s door open, with Leonard lying nearby. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately began performing life-saving measures, but first responders who arrived shortly afterward took over CPR. Despite their efforts, Leonard was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses to the incident reported hearing several gunshots and seeing multiple individuals fleeing the area on foot. A juvenile was detained near the scene for questioning, but as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the case and is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are hoping that further details will help bring those responsible for Leonard’s death to justice.
