Melissa Guest Obituary, Death – New York State Police have identified the victim of a deadly car crash that occurred in Middleburgh on July 29. The accident took place around 1:30 p.m. on State Route 145, involving two vehicles at the intersection with Schoharie Hill Road.
According to investigators, the crash happened when one vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Schoharie Hill Road from Route 145. As it was turning, another vehicle traveling north on Route 145 collided with it. The force of the impact was severe and resulted in the death of one of the passengers in the turning vehicle.
Police confirmed that 49-year-old Melissa Guest, a resident of Jefferson, was in the front passenger seat of the vehicle making the turn. She sustained serious injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Her tragic death marked the only fatality in the incident.
The drivers of both vehicles, as well as four additional passengers from the second vehicle, were transported to Albany Medical Center. Medical staff treated them for non-life-threatening injuries. Officials have not released the names or specific conditions of the other individuals involved.
