Jesus Garcia Obituary, Death – New details have emerged about the man who died alongside a veteran Los Angeles police sergeant in a tragic crash on the 405 Freeway last week. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Jesus Garcia, had been involved in a solo vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Moraga Drive. After the initial crash, Garcia exited his vehicle and was standing outside when the fatal incident occurred.

Los Angeles Police Sergeant Shiou Deng arrived on the scene to provide assistance. As he stepped out of his patrol car, another vehicle struck both Garcia and Sgt. Deng. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene, while Sgt. Deng was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that struck them was identified as Mario Bickham. He suffered significant injuries but, as of now, has not been arrested or charged in connection with the crash.

In the days following the tragedy, a GoFundMe page was launched to help Garcia’s family cover funeral expenses. The fundraiser describes Garcia as a “loving son, brother, uncle, and friend,” highlighting the deep loss felt by those who knew him.

The crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet determined whether any charges will be filed. The incident has brought an outpouring of support for the families of both victims, especially the law enforcement community mourning the loss of Sgt. Deng.
